ParaZero Receives Follow-On Order for Counter-Drone Interception System

Israeli firm ParaZero Technologies has received a second order from a “major global defense corporation” for its drone interception net-pods.

The latest order follows an earlier procurement by the same customer and involves operational net-pods intended for use against a range of small unmanned aerial threats.

Financial terms of the agreement and the identity of the defense contractor were not disclosed.

Counter-UAS Capabilities

The ordered systems are part of ParaZero’s DefendAir portfolio, which uses net-launching mechanisms to physically intercept unmanned aerial systems (UAS) in flight.

Such kinetic counter-UAS approaches are increasingly being adopted by military and security forces as an alternative or complement to electronic warfare and missile-based air defenses, particularly in urban or sensitive environments where minimizing collateral damage is a priority.

According to ParaZero, the net-pods are designed to integrate with multiple aerial platforms, allowing operators to neutralize hostile drones by entangling them rather than destroying them explosively.

The company has previously stated that the system achieved full interception rates during controlled field trials, although independent verification details have not been released.

The follow-on order comes amid sustained global demand for counter-drone technologies, driven by the widespread use of low-cost unmanned systems in conflicts such as Ukraine and the Middle East, as well as concerns over drone incursions near military bases, critical infrastructure, and public events.

ParaZero’s Recent Contracts

Founded in 2014, ParaZero develops safety and mission systems for both manned and unmanned aviation.

In addition to DefendAir, its product lines include SafeAir, an autonomous parachute recovery system for drones, and DropAir, a precision aerial delivery solution.

The company demonstrated its DefendAir counter-UAS system early last month for potential customers, showcasing its ability to capture enemy drones with the use of a net shot out of a rifle-style launcher in addition to its pod launcher.

Earlier in January, ParaZero was awarded its first contract by a “main Israeli defense user” for its DefendAir solution.
In October of last year, the firm received a “substantial” order from a “Tier one global defense company” for the system.
