Ukraine Gains Military Quadcopter Drones in Latest Donation From Khmelnytskyi City
Ukraine’s Armed Forces has received new tactical unmanned aerial systems from the western Ukrainian city of Khmelnytskyi, supporting the military in its continued defense amid the Russian invasion.
The package included 30 pieces of DJI Matrice 4T quadcopters alongside controllers and deployment kits.
The aid is valued at 5.5-million hryvnias ($129,910), with costs sourced from the city’s local government funding, according to Khmelnytskyi Mayor Oleksandr Symchyshyn.
Each drone measures approximately 31 centimeters (12 inches) in length, weighs about 1,4 kilograms (3 pounds), has a payload capacity of 200 grams (7 ounces), and a propeller size of 29 centimeters (11 inches) long.
It has a service ceiling of 6,000 meters (19,685 feet), a range of 35 kilometers (22 miles), a speed of 21 meters (69 feet) per second, and an operational flight time of 49 minutes.

Khmelnytskyi has been a consistent supporter of Kyiv’s military following Moscow’s annouınced “military operation” in 2022.
Most of the city’s assistance packages were recorded in the form of autonomous systems for reconnaissance missions.
Prior to its latest donation, Khmelnytskyi handed over 25 DJI Matrice 4Ts to the Ukrainian Armed Forces worth 2.5 million hryvnias ($106,290) in December and 20 more worth 3.6 million hryvnias ($85,032) in the same month.
In April 2025, the state-owned Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant, located in the northern part of the city, partnered with neighboring Shepetivka to deliver more than 200 drones of various types to the military.
