Uvision Acquires SpearUAV, Expanding Footprint in Loitering Munitions

Uvision Group has acquired full ownership of SpearUAV, an Israeli defense technology company known for developing encapsulated, AI-enabled loitering systems.

The move deepens Uvision’s presence in the rapidly growing market for autonomous and semi-autonomous aerial munitions and expands its range of products for use across land, sea, air, and sub-surface environments.

Complementary Systems for Different Battlefields

SpearUAV is best known for its Viper family of loitering systems, which are housed in sealed launch canisters and designed to provide reconnaissance, strike, electronic warfare, and counter-unmanned aerial system capabilities.

They are built for deployment at the battalion or small-unit level, including from armored vehicles, naval vessels, and submarines, offering localized intelligence and firepower without requiring large platforms.

Meanwhile, Uvision produces the HERO family of loitering munitions, which are typically used at higher tactical and operational levels for precision surveillance, target acquisition, and strike missions.

By integrating the Viper and HERO product lines, the company aims to cover a broader range of operational needs — from front-line units to more centralized command structures — using interoperable systems.

The acquisition follows a strategic investment Uvision made in SpearUAV four years ago, which both companies describe as the foundation for closer collaboration.

Uvision said the deal also aligns with its recent expansion into a new facility that reportedly combines manufacturing, research and development, and testing capabilities.
