Kopin Unveils High-Resolution Wireless Binocular Prototype
Kopin Corporation will showcase a prototype of its new high-resolution wireless simulated binoculars at I/ITSEC 2025, aiming to bring advanced realism to military training and simulation environments.
The prototype, powered by a computer image generator, features integrated positional and directional tracking sensors to deliver highly realistic simulations of fielded counterparts.
Leveraging Kopin’s high-resolution color OLED displays and proprietary viewing optics, the binoculars provide immersive performance for a range of scenarios, including night operations.
The new wireless device rounds out Kopin’s existing Training & Simulation product line, which includes the legacy Scout 35 and Ranger 35/47 products acquired from NVIS in 2017.
Daniel Rowell, Director of Business Development at Kopin, emphasized that the company’s innovations aim to transform immersive training environments and enhance mission readiness.
Kopin’s 2025 Government Contracts
Kopin’s presence at I/ITSEC comes amid a strong year for government contracts.
In September 2025, the company secured a $15.4-million contract from the US Army to supply ultra-bright, full-color MicroLED AR displays for ground soldiers, supporting domestic defense manufacturing and next-generation soldier systems.
Earlier in April, Kopin won a $7.5-million multi-year contract to provide microdisplays for pilot Helmet Mounted Display Systems used on combat aircraft across multiple platforms.
The award followed previous production contracts for MicroLED upgrades to aircraft Heads-Up Displays, underscoring ongoing demand for Kopin’s display technologies in aviation and soldier-worn systems.
