Ukraine Adds Drones, Warheads to Digital Defense Marketplace

Ukraine is set to give its frontline troops fast access to new offensive tools, as the government plans to expand its digital defense marketplace to include interceptor drones and warheads.

Defense Procurement Agency (DPA) Director Arsen Zhumadilov said that the DOT-Chain Defense platform will carry the additional systems starting in 2026, aiming to let units more quickly choose and deploy weapons they need via online portals.

He, however, stressed that the platform needs to adapt to handle such advanced systems. This includes creating clearer rules for procurement, standardizing how different units request the weapons, and ensuring private companies are ready to supply them at scale.

“For us to include [warheads and interceptors] into the marketplace, we will have to make sure that there is a proper market structure in place,” Zhumadilov said.

The DOT-Chain Defense allows military units to order equipment using funding from the DPA. The digital platform reduces bureaucracy and simplifies logistics, ensuring faster turnaround at a time when units are under heavy strain.

Zhumadilov said that “it takes no more than two weeks on average” from order to delivery.

The Value of DOT-Chain Defense

DOT-Chain Defense first introduced weapons in late July 2025, and the digital defense marketplace has since delivered at least 5,000 drones. This platform is available for use by at least 12 brigades deployed in Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Kharkiv. At least 25 companies are offering their products on the platform.

The expansion also reflects Ukraine’s push to keep pace with Russia’s intensive use of drones, missiles, and electronic warfare.

“Our clear goal is to create a platform that ensures our defenders receive everything they need promptly and in sufficient quantities,” Denys Shmyhal, Ukraine’s Minister of Defense, previously said.
