Ukrainian Firm Mass Produces Drone-Proof Robotic Vehicle
Ukrainian tech company Kvertus has launched the serial production of a ground robot resistant to electronic warfare.
Dubbed Kvertus AD Berserk, the system is designed to perform missions such as casualty evacuation and cargo transportation in places with a high risk of drone attacks.
It can disrupt frequencies from 220 to 1,050 megahertz, which reportedly encompasses all frequency bands used by drones such as first-person view, multirotor, and aerial bomber models.
According to Ukrainian media, the platform can also disrupt video transmission signals in the 2.4 and 5.8 gigahertz bands.
Its omnidirectional antennas have an effective jamming range of up to 800 meters (2,625 feet), while directional antennas can block a signal from as far as 1,500 meters (4,921 feet).
Features
The Berserk platform can be operated via a fiber optic cable at distances of up to 20 kilometers (12 miles). At the same time, radio control is supported at ranges of up to 500 meters (1,640 feet), according to the company.
The unmanned vehicle is powered by a built-in 48-volt, 60-ampere-hour battery, providing up to 12 hours of operation.
It can reach speeds of up to 25 kilometers (15.5 miles) per hour and carry loads of up to 700 kilograms (1,543 pounds).
Dozens of Orders
The company reported that it has received dozens of orders for the platform, which continues to receive monthly upgrades.
“We’re already working on dozens of orders for these systems — and this is a testament to their effectiveness,” CEO of Kvertus, Yaroslav Filimonov, said.
“Our equipment improves every month, and the technology is evolving by leaps and bounds.
The goal remains unchanged: protection from drones, save lives, and preserve technology and positions.”
